Oak Trail board computers will be able to run Android 3.0

According to a leader Intel, the company is working with Google to make Android 3.0 to the tablet is running low power Atom chip, code-named Oak Trail.
Operating system (OS), Android 3.0, code-named Honeycomb, the chip can run on Oak Trail. The release of the actual product will depend on equipment manufacturers, said Bill Kircos, group marketing manager netbook and tablet (MTB) of Intel.

Starting from May 5 / 2011, expected around 35 Oak Trail MTB chip (from companies such as Lenovo, Fujitsu, Toshiba and Motion Computing) will be ready, he said Kircos. People expect the Oak Trail MTB will be introduced at the show Intel Developer Forum (IDF) in Beijing (China) this week.
Oak Trail MTB will also run Windows 7 and Intel MeeGo, Kircos he said. At CES 2011 in Las Vegas (USA) earlier this year, the MTB from Lenovo, Samsung, Fujitsu display is only running Windows 7. Intel has said that the MTB MeeGo will “present” in the second half of this year.
Intel has a good relationship with Google, he said Kircos. The two companies have worked together on an Android version for the TV and set-top boxes equipped with Atom chip. Intel’s Atom chip is also used in the MXT Cr-48 to run Google Chrome OS operating system.
Oak Trail Intel chips will help better compete with ARM. Today, the ARM processor is used in most MTB, including Apple’s iPad Galaxy Tab and Samsung. ARM processor (which is also used in most smartphones in the world) are considered energy efficient than Intel’s chips.
