Ściany wykonane z pełnych cegieł klinkierowych bardzo dobrze gromadzą ciepło. W domach murowanych ściany, podłogi i strop wchłaniają duże ilości ciepła. Materiały, które dobrze akumulują ciepło to: pełna cegła, beton, lub kamień. Prawidłowe odprowadzanie wilgoci i doprowadzanie świeżego powietrza może zapewnić skuteczna wentylacja nawiewna oraz wywiewna.
